Registered Apprenticeship is a training model that offers individuals the opportunity to become a skilled worker in a trade/occupation through a combination of paid on-the-job training and related classroom instruction. Registered Apprenticeship is an “earn while you learn” program where individuals are hired by an employer (sponsor of a NYS Registered Apprenticeship program) and work under the close supervision of a skilled worker in that trade/occupation. The length of program varies depending on the trade/occupation, but is typically between 1 and 5 years. Once apprentices successfully complete the program, they receive a certificate of completion from the New York State Department of Labor, which is a portable, nationally recognized credential.

Elite Learners, Inc. is a school and community-based organization providing athletic, educational, and mentorship programming to youth, their families to build community leaders. This year (2020) has seen us provide anti-violence initiatives in the Brownsville and Flatbush area of Brooklyn, a community kitchen for the at risk and elderly and our schooling programming have moved virtual. Our goal is to build a community support system that will positively impact our future generations. We envision a community of mentors who partner with our youth, improve the neighborhood, and create socially, emotionally, and mentally prepared leaders.
