Brooklyn College Community Partnership (BCCP) facilitates cross-disciplinary, out-of-school-time (OST) programs throughout Brooklyn to serve over 800 underserved youth from middle to high school. We have been based in the Psychology department at Brooklyn College for over twenty-five years and support a relationship-building and asset-based approach to youth development. We send 60 undergraduate, community-engaged learners to our OST sites each year. They perform 63 hours per semester of mentoring middle and high schoolers by modeling college and meeting kids where they’re at. Our dedicated professionally-trained staff and programs offer academic support, college prep, arts, health and wellness, social justice and STE(A)M. BCCP currently runs seven in-school sites and also facilitates Brooklyn College Art Lab (BCAL), a 7,000 sq. ft., youth-dedicated arts and technology site at Brooklyn College that includes two recording studios, a digital maker lab, fashion studio, kitchen lab, and several multi-purpose spaces.
